Mahindodaya Technological Labs

Lack of educational opportunities lead to deepening inequalities and untapped potential of millions, to drive the country’s collective future. Therefore to fulfill the expectations of parents who wish to enroll their children to prestigious schools in Sri Lanka, Thousand Schools Development Project was implemented through which 1,000 secondary schools and 5,000 primary schools were developed. The Thousand Schools Development Project intended to provide better educational facilities to students across the island. Under this program a science, computer, language and mathematic laboratories were established in identified secondary schools to prepare students for diverse career paths.

Smart-Interactive Boards for Education Sector

According to World Development Report (2019) of the World Bank, the prospective career opportunities of the 4IR will require a wide spectrum of skills, including technological know-how, problem-solving, and critical thinking, as well as soft skills such as perseverance, collaboration, and empathy. In response to the change in skill requirements, there was a dire need to introduce Smart Interactive Boards to schools across the country.

EDU Day

EWIS conducts customer forums with the collaboration of Ministry of Education, to understand the real concerns associated with school computer labs. These customer forums have provided a platform for the Principals and Teachers to discuss the concerns pertaining to the Labs with the presence of Ministry, Provincial, Zonal Officials to address the related issues. Thereby these customer forums have enabled uninterrupted operations of school computer labs. The first customer forum was held in Galle in July 2014. Since then 17 customer forums have been conducted across provinces covering 733 Schools and 1394 Principals and Teachers.
